The Association of American Geographers is pleased to announce the new Marble-Boyle Undergraduate Achievement Awards. These awards aim to recognize excellence in academic performance by undergraduate students from the United States and Canada who are putting forth a strong effort to bridge geographic science and computer science as well as to encourage other students to embark upon similar programs.
Each award consists of a $700 cash prize, a $200 credit for books published by ESRI Press, and a certificate of recognition. Awardees will also be eligible to compete for an additional research fellowship offered by the MicroGIS Foundation for Spatial Analysis (MFSA) for up to four months of work with MFSA in Lausanne, Switzerland.
Application period closes October 15 (annually). For application procedures and a full description visit www.aag.org/Grantsawards/marble_boyle.htm. Other questions may be directed to me at psolis@aag.org.
Thank you for passing along this information to your SG members, the undergraduate advisor in your department and eligible students as well.
