Course Title: Tennis II
Instructor: Dr. Casebolt Phone: 3230
The course reviews the basic skills, introduces the approach shot, return of serve, and half volley. The course includes strategy and competition in singles and doubles game play. Prerequisite: FIT 132 or equivalent.
1. The student will understand court awareness.
2. The student will learn how to execute basic spins.
3. The student will learn advanced shots.
4. The student will learn strategies associated with the game of singles and doubles.
5. The student will apply the knowledge and skills learned in a competitive situation.

D. Class Policies
The instructor has the discretion of dropping a student who does not show up to class.
Each student is responsible for information missed during his or her absence.
Each student is responsible for wearing appropriate attire for physical activity.

Students are responsible for providing a can of tennis balls.
F. Course Evaluation
1. Attendance: A student is allowed to miss two classes. Beyond that, they are subject to failing the class.
2. Skills: Students will be evaluated on their knowledge of the rules and their ability to perform the various shots discussed in class (E.g. the overhead and underhand clear, the overhead and underhand drop, the smash, and the serve). A skills test must be completed in order to pass the class.
3. This course is graded on a pass/fail basis.
4. A can of tennis balls.
