Biographies

Ken Brader III (back row left), trumpet/flugelhorn: BM, Eastman School of Music. Ken has toured as lead trumpet and assistant music director of the Glenn Miller Orchestra, with recent trips to the Philippines, Poland, and Japan. In July 1998, he performed at several major international jazz festivals on the 23-day tour of eight European countries as a member of the Phil Woods Big Band. Ken has also performed with Chuck Mangione, including the Carnegie Hall and Central Park concerts. He is currently a member of the Philadelphia Pops Orchestra under the direction of Peter Nero and he also performs with Ragtime with Gaptime. Ken performed as lead trumpet on the CD Live at Carnegie Hall - The 50th Anniversary Concert by Patti Page (DRG 91454). This recording won the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Performance. He performed as lead trumpet and soloist in the nationally broadcast PBS TV special Songs of Johnny Mercer with Johnny Mathis and Melissa Manchester. Ken can be heard as trumpet soloist on the Essex Entertainment label on the five-CD set The Love Songs of Your Life (ESD 7054) and with Derek Smith and the Smithsonians. With the Glenn Miller Orchestra, he can be heard on Moonlight Serenade on Ranwood Records (RDS 1005) and on the LaserLight label with the Glenn Miller Orchestra on the following best-selling CDs:
