Raymond G. Milewski ESU
Ray as a boy Even as a boy I was interested in all things biological. I collected butterflies and moths. I had snakes, frogs and turtles as pets. My interest in plants back then continued through graduate school where I specialized in botany, more specifically plant ecology and did my thesis in palynology. My goal in graduate school was to teach at a small college and therefore I am doing what I love to do at ESU.

Calanthe   Streptocarpus   Meconopsis
I manage the plant collection in the ESU greenhouse. This is a Calanthe orchid in the collection   I have a special interest in the gesneriad family. This is a Streptocarpus, a genus from South Africa blooming in the greenhouse.   I collect hand watercolored botanical prints from the 19th century. This is a Meconopsis print from the Himalayas.
