Class Voice consists of group instruction for improvement of the singing voice. It is recommended for those who wish to become better singer-musicians. Since you will best learn to sing by actively applying what you are studying in this class, participation in ESU Concert Choir (Tuesdays 7:15-9:15 p.m.) is strongly encouraged – if you do so, you will earn a bonus of one letter grade in this class.

REQUIRED MATERIALS

1) Adventures in Singing (Fourth Edition) by Clifton Ware

2) Audio CD of songs for this class – to obtain this, go to the Listening Lab (Fine Arts 218) with 1 blank CD-R (not CD-RW) to have a copy made for you at no cost. The Listening Lab hours are 8:30 am - 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday. Be sure to write your name on the CD before you get it copied. A PDF document of the song order is also on the CD – put it into your computer, then go to “My Computer” and right-click “Explore” on your CD drive. You will be able to print the document as a CD insert.

EVALUATION: Grading for the class is based on: participation, attitude, effort, and improvement in the singing of three solo songs as well as class and concert attendance.
