1.  Daily Log: turned 
in at the completion of
the internship.
a.  completeness:  Is each day accounted for with date, time started, time finished, sites visited, equipment used, techniques learned or applied? 10 %
b.  Is the journal organized? 5 %
c.  Is the journal legible? 5%
d.  Was the journal actually used or is it obvious that it was recopied?  Recopying the journal is a waste of time.  Just like in chemistry class, take your notes / journal entries seriously the first time, then you don't have to recopy. 5%

2.  Bi-weekly 
Report
a.  Is the report a synthesis of the daily log, not just a re-hash of activities? 5%
b.  Presentation:  Are spelling, grammar and logical presentation proper? 2.5%
c.  Is the report on time? 2.5%
d.  Does the report include data ranges on what the intern is measuring?  For instance, if you were measuring lead levels in older homes, what are the EPA limits and how many houses exceeded those limits in the two-week period. 10 %
e.  Can the intern pinpoint areas for improvement, either for themselves or for the internship provider? 2.5%
f.  Is the report concise, to the point and missing "fluff"? 2.5%
