Selecting multiple files simultaneously:

Before you can work with a file or a directory, you must select it. As noted above, while you can only select a single directory in the directory tree half of the directory window, you can select either a single file and/or directory or multiple files and directories. This is termed extending a selection, which allows you to perform a task with several files and/or directories at once. For example, you may want to select a group of files and move them to another directory. You can select a group of files or directories that appear in consecutive order, or you can select items that are not in sequence.
Selecting Two or More Items Out of Sequence Press and hold down <CTRL> while you click each item.
