Admission Requirements:

people040.gif (20587 bytes)  Initial Bids for membership are given to Seniors with a 3.3 GPA, Juniors with a 3.2 G.P.A, Sophomores with a 3.0 GPA (with a minimum of 32 credits).

Students must maintain a 3.0 to remain active

Attendance to all Phi Epsilon Kappa meetings is required for all members

Participation in a minimum of one community service project and one fund raising activity is required of all active members

 


Introduction

Phi Epsilon Kappa Fraternity is a national professional fraternity for persons engaged in or pursuing careers in health, physical education, recreation, safety or related fields.  Membership is open to all persons interested in the purpose of the Fraternity and in providing their time and energies for the benefit of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education, and related fields.

Objectives of Phi Epsilon Kappa

  1. To be organized and operated exclusively for the educational and charitable purpose as a non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the interest of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education, and related fields.
  2. To be operated in such a manner that the Corporation be of continuing benefit and service to Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety    Education, and related fields and shall function consistently with its stated purpose.
  3. To foster scientific research in the fields of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Fields.
  4. To facilitate the exchange of information and experience gained in the various countries of the world concerning matters related to the interdependent areas of the fields of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Field, including programs, methods, techniques, material training, and research.
  5. To promote sound community understanding leading to adequate support of these educational programs.
  6. To promote a medium through which the membership can contribute to the advancement of the fields of Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Fields
  7. To maintain records and collect statistics concerning members and to provide a Nation Office.
  8. To publish periodicals to be distributed to members and the the general public for the purpose of disseminating information about the Corporation, the members, Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Fields.
  9. To make awards for outstanding work in promoting Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Fields.
  10. To furnish, at cost, duplicating and mail services to members, information relating to Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Fields.
  11. To foster a spirit of loyalty and fraternity and  bonds of fellowship and mutual assistance among members and those interested in Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Fields.
  12. To do all things necessary and appropriate to foster the spread of knowledge about Health Education, Physical Education, Recreation Education, Safety Education and Related Fields.
