Action Plans

Prepare written Action Plans to guide your work with a student teacher, a beginning/novice teacher, and a peer teacher.

Your action plans should include the following components:

1. A description of how you would establish an environment within your classroom for working with a student teacher. Be specific in terms of the orientation of a student teacher to your classroom, a timeline for a student teacher to assume duties within your classroom, and how you would move a student teacher from teaching with you to teaching by her/himself. Include the strategies you would use to establish a relationship with the student teacher and the methods of supervision you would employ.

2. A description of how you would establish a mentoring relationship with a beginning or novice teacher. Outline a progression of areas you consider important for sharing with the beginning/novice teacher, and the approaches you would take to supervising/coaching her or him.

3. A plan for establishing a peer coaching system at your school. Outline the steps you would take in establishing interest, approval, participation, and involvement. Note the constraints on establishing such a system, and list your ideas for dealing with these constraints.

Please limit your action plan descriptions to a total of 2 pages.
