Economic Development & Entrepreneurship 

The East Stroudsburg University division of Economic Development & Entrepreneurship (EDE) was established in 2007 to address the critical role higher education plays in economic development and to position the university as a leader in innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and workforce training.

MISSION: EDE supports the academic mission of ESU by providing the greater campus community with access to grants, sponsored research, workforce development and entrepreneurial opportunities.

VISION: EDE will be recognized as the academic partner of choice for economic development initiatives, academic excellence, innovation, and best practices that will advance the region's economic vitality.

The EDE team works closely with students, faculty, staff and businesses partners in addressing regional, national and international economic development opportunities.

The EDE division spearheads the university's role in economic development through the following areas:

Business Accelerator Program

Created 118 jobs, retained 143 jobs, provided internships, supported 16 high-tech companies; $131,935 in participation fees

Entrepreneurial Leadership Center

Engaged 31 faculty and over 1000 students

Office of Workforce Development

Awarded $1.7M to 150 companies to train 12,139 employees
