The Journal Of Imaginary Sciences (JIS)
Welcome to East Stroudsburg University in the Pennsylvania Poconos Home of the Journal of Imaginary Sciences. Because of the proximity of the Einstein Intersection in space and time to East Stroudburg University word has gotten around and we have already received letters to the editor before we have actually gone to Web. This is as it should be. Join in the fun.

Volume 1 of the Journal
The Physics Department of East Stroudsburg University has agreed to host the Journal of Imaginary Sciences. Have you noticed that weird things happen in the Poconos. That is because it is the site of an Einstein Intersection - a place in space-time where alternate universes, realities and dimensions intersect. Because of this the Journal of Imaginary Sciences has been inaugurated.
The purpose of the journal is as follows:
1. To expand beyond the simplistic meaning of science and to explore science in alternate universes, realities and dimensions.
2. To bring researchers in these alternate universes, realities and dimensions together in the cooperative adventure of learning and exploration.
3. To offer a forum for these researchers to publish their experiments, theories, research and speculation in any area of the imaginary sciences.
Our motto is: All Imagination is Science and All Science is Imaginary
You have read the Journal of Irreproducible Results, now read the Journal of Imaginary Sciences.
Instructions to Contributors
1. Articles are limited in length to 400 to 2000 words. They must be submitted to one of the moderating editors. This may be done through e-mail, Fax or snail mail. Ouija is not accepted as it is notoriously poor at graphics and formulas and does not translate well into electronic media. Telepathy is optional, but we cannot guarantee reception.
2. The format is that of the standard journal format of the reference universe. Take a look at any journal in your home universe, and that format is probably the same. If you are uncertain, read the articles in the first issue of JIS.
3. The author must indicate their name, institutional affiliation, universe and dimension according to the agreed upon Paratemporal Transdimensional Numbering Standard (PTNS). This was agreed upon at the First Conference of the Society For Imaginary Sciences (SIS). An example is given below.
1ST0
ST is the abbreviation for space-time and indicates an alternate universe affiliation. The superscript (or prefix) is the first band, and the subscript (or postscript) is the universe in that band. 1ST0 is the reference universe for the Einstein Intersection and the one where we are located (first band zeroth universe). The symbol D is used for dimension with the subscript (post script) the temporal dimensions and superscript (prefix) the spatial dimensions. R is used for reality, though the superscript (prefix) refers to level not band. Our complete reference address is:
1SD0 , 3D1 , 1R0
We are the reference universe for space-time band 1, the reference universe for the first standard three space one temporal dimensions, and we are the reference for the first level of ordinary reality.
4. Letters to the editors may be addressed to any of the three moderating editors listed below.
larrabee@esu.edu, mamogus@esu.edu, cjmurphy@esu.edu
or Fax: 570-422-3505
5. If you submit your paper in your universal, dimensional or reality language, a standard English translation must be provided as was agreed upon at the First Conference of the Imaginary Sciences.
6.. The journal is published monthly and we will go with what we have each month. The journal starts with volume 1 issue three. The first two issues were imaginary.

There is temporarily some confusion on this front Several authors from the future have claimed to have won the contest even though the rules and requirements haven't been established yet If you have any suggestions for a logo (and how to run a temporal contest in which the future can participate as well as the past) please contact any of the moderating Editors. Perhaps we will get it published in a past (future?) issue.
