Catalog Description
This course will apply Maxwell's equations to the propagation of
electromagnetic waves in free space, wave guides and coaxial cables, The
transmission line equations will be developed and analyzed for the case of real
practicable transmission lines. Maxwell's equations will be used to
analyze antennas.
Prerequisites: Phys 161, 162, 431 and Math 341
This course is designed for Physics majors. It is taught in a Lecture Demonstration style
with a laboratory.
