" Desi Student Organization " (DSO) is one of the largest groups on campus, representing Indians, Pakistanis, Bangladeshis, Mauritians, Guyanians, Sri Lankans, Nepalese and other South Asians at ESU. DSO is open to all students interested in getting a taste of South Asian culture.
Our organization was founded with the purpose of celebrating the diversity of South Asian culture, providing students in America with the opportunity to learn about South Asian heritage. DSO is committed to not only providing a means for South Asian Americans to delve into their own background, but to also allowing students of any ethnicity to explore South Asian traditions. Our activities include meetings (on regular basis), parties (Desi Party, etc), vocational trips, sports, celebrations of South Asian festivals, and an annual cultural unity function (DESI SANGAM NIGHT). The members of DSO share a common interest in presenting South Asian culture to the ESU community.
