The following scholarships are available to students enrolled in the various programs within the Movement Studies and Exercise Science department. The Athletic Training and Sports Medicine Scholarship

Financial Need Considered
The Bush Family Scholarship was established by Dr. Jone J/. Bush to honor the contributions and educational support of her parents Dorothy N. and W. Floyd Bush, to potential teachers and coaches. The scholarship is awarded to a Physical Education major in the teacher education program. The individual must demonstrate a commitment to teaching and coaching and be a member of an organization with the profession.Return to TopCredit Minimum: 50

The James R. Chamberlain Scholarship
The James R. Chamberlain Scholarship is awarded in memory of our former colleague, friend and chairperson of the department. It is given annually to a deserving senior physical education major in the teacher education program. The recipient must be making sound academic progress, be professionally involved in a leadership role and be committed to serving others in a teaching capacity- qualities generally associated with outstanding teachers.
The class of 1937, through the ESU Alumni Association, awards five scholarships, one of which is awarded to an individual in the teacher education program, who exhibits a balance between merit and need.Credit Minimum: 30

The Class of 1954, through the ESU Alumni Association, wards five scholarships. Financial Need Required
The DeNike Scholarship was established by Professor Howard DeNike, Class of 1926, and long time ESU faculty member, in honor of all the family members that attended East Stroudsburg University. The recipient must be majoring in physical education or health, and exhibit high academic performance and leadership ability.Credit Minimum: 80
Eugen DeTullo, Class of 1939, established this award for a student pursuing a degree in physical education. The recipient must be a full-time student with at least junior standing and a varsity soccer or basketball player. The Grace Rapp Best Memorial Award
The Grace Rapp Best Memorial Award was established by Randolph Best in memory of his mother, who was an ESU graduate, Class of 1934. The award is presented to a graduating female, with high academic achievement and varsity experience in a team sport, preferably field hockey or basketball. The Vicki Moldovan Scholarship
The Vicki Moldovan Scholarship was established in 1992 by her family, in memory of Vicki, who graduated from ESU in 1972. The scholarship is given to a female who is a physical education major and varsity athlete.Return to TopCredit Minimum: 60

No Repeat Winners
The Frank D. and Marjorie Sills Scholarship
Dr. Frank D. Sills, President of East Stroudsburg University (1968-1970), former Dean of Health Sciences and Physical Education, and long time faculty member initiated this award. The recipients (one male and one female) must be a senior from the department of Movement Studies and Exercise Science, with high academic standing. The students must be active participants in varsity athletics, intamurals, clubs, or other organizations, and must also participate in and make contributions to the profession through their work with various groups in the field of physical education.

The Tichy Family Scholarship was established by Dr. Michael Tichy, Class of 1948 through the ESU Alumni Association. The scholarship is awarded to a full-time student majoring in Health Education or Physical Education.
