August 18-20, 2004, Clarion University of Pennsylvania
2004 CETP-PA Summer Conference (meals,
lodging and daily stipend included for participants from a campus team; let
Robert Cohen (ESU co-team leader) know
and he can include you in the ESU team if there is space. Then when you
register, list
yourself as a member of the ESU team.)
This ESU program provides a pre-service science teacher who assists a
secondary science teacher with some of the time-intensive administrative
work that impedes the development of inquiry-oriented activities. In return,
the cooperating teacher assists in carrying out an action research activity.
Course Workgroups
The MaSTER Center sponsors small groups of people who wish to
examine how particular courses could better serve pre-service and
in-service teachers. Past workgroups have looked at a physics course
for elementary education majors, a math sequence for elementary
education majors and a meteorology course. If you are interested
in having a workgroup look at your own course(s) or are interested
in joining a group (K-12 teachers, especially), please contact
the MaSTER Center director.
This NSTA program consists of a network connecting teachers in all
schools in Pennsylvania. It is envisioned that each school will have a
"Point of Contact" and volunteers are currently being sought.
Provides teachers with "one-stop-shopping for professional
development course, degree opportunities, portfolio development,
certification programs, and preparation for successfully completing the
National Teaching Board Certification."
