To participate in a Series of

Workshops

Geometry in the Elementary School

This series of three workshops is intended for elementary teachers who want to improve their knowledge of geometry and their instruction of geometry topics. Selected participants will meet in three two-hour sessions and participate in demonstrations of model lessons, discussions of Best Practice and construction of effective lessons. Upon completion of the series, each teacher will receive a stipend of $150 and Act 48 credit for six hours. (Teachers from districts with flex-time may be eligible for flex-time instead of a stipend.)

This series is sponsored by the MaSTER Center (Math, Science and Technology Resource Center) at ESU and is funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation through the CETP-PA (Collaboration for Excellence in Teacher Preparation in Pennsylvania) and the ESU Steering Committee for CETP-PA.

Workshop dates are: Tuesday, September 24; Thursday, October 24^th; Wednesday, November 13^th. . All workshops will be held from 4:15 to 6:15 pm Room 206A/B in the ESU University Center. The Workshop leader is Julie Victory.

Teachers interested in participating should fill out the attached form and return it as soon as possible. Only twenty seats are available and participants will be chosen on a first come basis. This workshop series is the same one that was offered last spring. Those who attended last time may not attend again but should watch for Geometry II with new topics coming next spring!
