DIRECTOR, PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMS
Full-time professional responsible for building school district partnerships; designing and
teaching professional development workshops for K-8 teachers; supporting the implementation of
hands-on, inquiry-based science programs in area schools; exploring (and implementing as
appropriate) the development of a resource center for the distribution of exemplary instructional
materials (FOSS, STC, et.al.); and collaborating with area colleges to design field experiences
for pre-service teachers. Qualifications: Masters’ degree with BA or MS in science
and/or education field. Extensive knowledge of K-8 science curriculum (FOSS, STC, Gems, et.al.),
pedagogy, standards, and assessment. Strong science background. Experience developing and
teaching professional development workshops (K-8). K-8 classroom teaching experience. Excellent
interpersonal and communication skills.
Salary: $40-50k with excellent benefits package
