It also included cover-to-cover indices of the National Communication Association’s 6 journals (from their first editions to the present). | ICPSR Social & Political Data | This link takes you to the home page for the Inter-University Consortium for Political and Social Research. Here you may search their database and archives to find data on a wide range of political and social issues. Some of the data sets cover topics in the area of crime, health, economics, race relations, leisure activities, social values, consumer behavior and politics. This data is computer readable and can be manipulated using standard statistical packages. It can be used either for teaching data manipulation and interpretation in the class room, or for personal research. There is a wealth of valuable information here for many disciplines. The data comes both from US surveys and research and also surveys/research done in other nations. Some of the data is historical and some is current .For example, two recent additions to the file are an ABC/Washington Post Poll on reactions to the September 11th terrorist attacks and a 1999 National Nursing Home Survey. While ESU does not have immediate web access to the data, it may be obtained by contacting Bob D'Aversa in Academic Computing. | Safari Tech Books | An electronic reference library designed for programming and information technology professionals. Our library has selected almost 100 titles which you can read from cover to cover. You can also search for specific topics and strings of information within titles (choose the "My books" option for searching just our collection) and then read the pertinent chapter or page. The entire Safari collection of over 1500 titles is also searchable. You will not be able to read the entire book, but you will find preview information, tables of contents and other information about that book. To see a list of the books in the ESU collection just click on the word "Bookshelf" on the yellow toolbar at the top of the screen . The titles in our collection may change as new editions are published or as we swap little used titles for other titles that may be of more interest. |

Ulrich's Periodicals Directory: a bibliographic database providing detailed, comprehensive, and authoritative information on serials published throughout the world. It covers all subjects, and includes publications that are published regularly or irregularly and are circulated free of charge or by paid subscription. With the database you can identify periodicals in particular subject areas, languages, price range, etc. Information is updated weekly. Many of the titles have more detailed information including links to table of content pages and article abstracts. Some titles also include reviews from Library Journal and Magazines for Libraries.
