Welcome to the Gender and Sexuality Center!

Welcome to our Campus Gender and Sexuality Center! This is a warm, welcoming hub that provides support services, educational and social activities, and a space for students to meet new people in a relaxed and comfortable setting.

We acknowledge that many students often face stress or discrimination based on their sexual or gender identity. Therefore, our mission is to create a safe, affirming, and inclusive environment for all students to feel both valued and supported. We offer a wealth of support with a care perspective, which includes course offerings to students and faculty and staff such as Safe Zone and Advanced Safe Zone Training, Allyship Training, and many more. Behind Closed Doors is where anyone looking to discuss their gender and sexuality with one of our trained staff members can do so privately.

We provide support for student organizations and clubs, as well as programming and events that celebrate the expression and development of one’s gender, sexuality, and intersectional identities. We are here to listen, connect you to campus and community resources, and teach you different ways to advocate for yourself and your peers.

The mission of the Gender and Sexuality Center is to encourage ESU community members to discuss and think introspectively on the many ways our identities influence our lives. Intersectionality and empowerment are the foundation of the GSC. We motivate students to become their authentic selves and educate them on how to be an ally and advocate.
