Guest Lecturer Jay Rattman - The Music of Legendary Pianist John Coates Jr.

John Coates Jr. inspired generations of musicians with his brilliant and personal playing from his perch as "house pianist" for many decades at Delaware Water Gap's legendary jazz club, the Deer Head Inn. In this presentation, saxophonist and devoted fan of Coates Jay Rattman will introduce listeners to Coates's recorded output as a pianist and composer, and discuss some of the artists who were possible influences on Coates, as well as those who have drawn inspiration from him over the years.
