Six ESU Students attended the conference at the Sagamore Hotel.  They have many fond memories of Wilderness Panels (Barry presented a paper on reintroducing the Wolves to the Wilderness and Kristen and Melissa participated in a nut-and bolts session) and Adirondacks as  Text (Melissa and a few others headed for the hills; the rest of us explore the island and town,)  but took few photos, except when it was time to eat!

And eat...

And then listen to the keynote address...

After the conference was over, the weather was so marvelous, we decided to stop by Saratoga Springs on the way home.  Dr. G. picked up a disposable camera, so we got rather more pictures of our explorations....

Our first stop was actually the mineral baths at Saratoga Spa State Park.  We didn't have time to relax in the historic baths, but several of us sampled the waters...

man made...

Saratoga Spa State Park, distinguished by its classical architecture and listed as a National Historic Landmark, is noted for its diverse cultural, aesthetic and recreational resources. This beautiful State Park, open year-round, features mineral water baths in restored bath houses, natural mineral springs and more geysers than anywhere east of the Mississippi, interspersed with lush pine forests and classical architecture designated as National Historic Landmarks.  In addition to the  Lincoln mineral baths, the park offers a multitude of traditional recreation opportunities. The Peerless Pool Complex consists of a main pool with a zero-depth entry, separate slide pool with a 19' double slide and a children's wading pool with a mushroom fountain. The Victoria Pool is a smaller pool surrounded by arched promenades. The gentle terrain offers picnic areas, shady streamside trails, suitable for the nature-lover or the casual walker, as well as certified running courses used by joggers and high school and college athletes. Winter activities include both ice skating and ice hockey rinks and cross-country skiing.

After enjoying the parks, we headed for town (it was lunch time and we were hungry!) Where we saw them setting up a traveling circus....

Then had our picture taken underneath a blossoming cherry tree....

Our last sight of Saratoga Springs....
