Kinemage (kinetic images) are graphical displays of macromolecular structures that can be viewed interactively using a personal computer (1,2). The kinemage programs were written by David Richardson for use by The Protein Society and their journal 'Protein Science' (3). A tutorial on the use of kinemages is available.
Many of the applications require the use of the programs MAGE (for .kin files) or RASMOL (for .pdb files) to view, analyze and manipulate molecular graphics. Download these programs.
