Christel Hibbard, the Warriors' top cross country runner, made the All-Pennsylvania State
Athletic Conference team for the second straight year and just missed qualifying for the NCAA nationals.
Hibbard finished ninth of 82 finishers in the PSAC Cross Country Championships with a 6,000-meter
time of 23:52. She ran even better in the NCAA Division II Northeast Regionals, placing eighth of 133
runners, with a time of 22:08.52 for the same distance and beating PSAC champion Megan Seefeldt of
Kutztown by 20 seconds.
The ESU junior was the fourth individual finisher not on one of the three qualifying teams
at the
regionals and only two advanced to the nationals. Two of the top three individuals were from IUP, which
placed fourth in the standings and missed by eight points qualifying as a team which would have put
Hibbard in the nationals.
Senior Danielle Centurione also turned in a strong performance at the regionals, finishing 40th in
23:35.21. The team's other top runners were Nicole Royer, Erin Coyne, Stacie Gallagher and Heather
Bjorndahl
MEN'S CROSS COUNTRY (3-1)
Freshman Darryl Brown burst on the scene to lead the ESU men's cross country team. He placed

Brown also placed 16th of 282 finishers in the Allentown Invitational in which the ESU team was
second of 28 teams. He was 26th in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference championships in a
8,000-meter time of 28:22, just ahead of teammate and senior Brian Trentowski, 28th in 28:25.
At the NCAA Northeast Regionals, Brown placed 27th of 123 runners in a 10,000-meter of
32:59.00
