Brown Wins Race to Tidewater Classic to Pace Warrior Cross Country Teams

Salisbury, Md. - Darryl Brown ran away with the men's title of the Tidewater Fall Classic to pace the Warrior cross country teams Saturday morning. The sophomore won the five-mile course in a time of 25:32. Freshman Colleen Weber was the highest finisher on the women's side in 19th.
ESU placed fifth with 118 points of the 19-team field while Kutztown took first at 78 points. The Warrior women came in seventh (178 points) while Kutztown took first with 77 points.
Brown's first collegiate title came over the 181-man field in 25:32. Mike Loesner was second for ESU in 23rd (26:52) with Mike Patrizi (26th 27:02) and Mike Browne (28th 27:16) followed right behind. Pete Miller rounded out the Warriors top five finishers in 40th place at 27:35.
Weber was the first woman to come across the finish in 19th (23:13) for the 6K race. Vanessa Andes followed in 31st (23:40) and Daffney Parsons came in 37th (24:01). Kelly Curry and Hollie Holtzinger finished the team scoring runners in 51st (24:37) and 52nd (24:41).
The Warriors return to action next Saturday afternoon when they run at LaSalle
Invitational.
