Brown and Andes Lead Cross Country Teams at LaSalle

Philadelphia, Pa. - - Darryl Brown continued his top running and Vanessa Andes had the best day for the women at the LaSalle Invitational Saturday afternoon. After winning the Tidewater Classic last week, Brown was the top Warrior to make it across the finish line in 11th in a race comprised of all Division I schools. Andes placed 45th to lead the ESU women.

Brown helped the Warriors to a ninth place finish of 10 teams with the other nine being NCAA Division I squads. His 26:11.80 for the 8K gained him 11th place. Mike Loenser was the next ESU man in 55th (27:46.72) while Mike Patrizi (74th, 28:19.56), Mike Browne (85th, 28:35.71) and Andy Sabella (102nd, 29:20.27) rounded out the team's top five runners.

Freshman Vanessa Andes led the team for the first time to a 45th place finish over the 6K in 20:55.15. Colleen Weber and Daffney Parsons were not far behind in 50th (21:16.61) and 53rd (21:23.64). Juniors Kelly Curry (68th, 21:57.76) and Jane Grendel (72nd, 22:09.62) were the other two in the women's top five placers.

The ESU teams will have a week off until they next compete October 19th at the DeSales Invitational.
