ESU Cross Country Runs in Kutztown Invitational

Kutztown, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University men's and women's cross country teams ran in the Kutztown Quad Meet Saturday morning. The non-scored meet included Kutztown University and East Stroudsburg University along with both school's alumni, for a total of 23 runners in both the men's and women's races.

ESU's Mike Browne (Brodheadsville, Pa.), Pete Miller (Dallas, Pa.) and Steve Spaits (Catasauqua, Pa.) finished second, third and fourth, respectively, to lead the Warriors. Brown had a time of 17:16, Miller finished in 17:22 and Spaits recorded a time of 17:24. Other top finishers included Mike Patrizi (Pottstown, Pa.) who placed sixth with a time of 17:33 and Andy Sabella (Budd Lake, NJ) finished in the eighth spot with a time of 17:39.

On the women's side the Warriors' top finisher was Kelly Curry (Pittston, Pa.) who placed sixth overall with a time of 21:14. Carol Bullen (Paramus, NJ) finished ninth with a time of 21:27, Holly Holtzinger (York, Pa.) was tenth with a time of 21:38 and Krystal Klugh (Mount Joy, Pa.) was right behind in the 11th spot with a time of 21:43. Other top finishers were Jen Tomaselli (Schwenksville, Pa.) who finished 13th with a time of 22:06 and Kelly Brennan (Pottsville, Pa.) finished fifteenth with a time of 22:26.

Both teams will run at the PSAC Championships next Saturday at Edinboro University.
