Warrior Spikers Blitz Golden Rams to Inch Closer to PSAC Playoff Spot

West Chester, Pa. - Peaking down the regular season stretch drive is exactly what the East Stroudsburg women's volleyball team is doing. The Warriors recorded their fifth-straight win overall and fourth Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division victory with their 3-0 blitz of West Chester by scores of 30-27, 30-22, 30-26.
The win pulls ESU into a tie for second place at 6-3 in the PSAC East Division with Kutztown and travel Saturday morning to meet the Golden Bears to determine who gains the second playoff spot. ESU with the win sealed their third non-losing regular season in a row as they improved to 15-14. West Chester falls to 22-9 on the year and 7-2 in league action.
The Warriors senior trio led the way on the night. April Mellott downed 24 kills to go with 16 digs, Andrea Myers dug 33 balls and had 12 kills while Heidi Johnston dished out 50 assists and 11 digs. Other solid efforts came from Lindsey Newmyer's 15 kills and Kourtney Dalrymple's 12 digs.
