Warrior Spikers Take a Pair on Saturday

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg spikers returned to the win column two times Saturday afternoon. The Warriors swept past both C.W. Post and Philadelphia 3-0 on the day. ESU played a tough morning match against C.W. Post by scores of 30-28, 30-24 and 30-24 before handling Philadelphia much easier time at 30-17, 30-20 and 30-12. C.W. Post defeated Philadelphia 3-1 (28-30, 30-17, 30-15, 30-28) in their part of the tri-match.

ESU takes their mark to 12-14 on the season while C.W. Post goes to 7-18 and Philadelphia 12-14.

In the first match against C.W. Post, April Mellott had 12 kills, 10 digs and five blocks while Andrea Myers dug 13 balls with seven kills. Beth Walker added nine kills, 12 digs and four blocks, and Heidi Johnston 35 assists and two aces.

Mellott had an outstanding second match of the day with 20 kills, no errors in 28 attempts for a .714 hitting percentage, five aces, four blocks and eight digs. Myers added nine kills and 16 digs along with 16 digs from Kortney Dalrymple. Johnston handed out another 35 assists and five kills against Philadelphia.

ESU will next play host on Senior Night Tuesday night against Millersville at 7:00 p.m
