ESU Women's Volleyball Prevails Over Slippery Rock

Slippery Rock, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University women's volleyball team defeated Slippery Rock Saturday afternoon 3-2. Slippery Rock took the first game 30-24 and the Warriors took the next two games 30-25 and 30-26. Slippery Rock came back in a close fourth game to win 30-28. The Warriors took the final game, 15-11 to gain the victory.

The ESU Warriors are now 9-12 overall for the season. Heidi Johnston recorded 53 assists in the match. April Mellot pounded 25 kills and Andrea Myers added 17 kills and 36 digs in the attack. Lindsey Newmyer added 13 kills in the win. As a team ESU recorded 108 digs, 78 kills and just 13 errors in 171 attempts.

The Warriors will take on California University later in the evening at 6:00 p.m.
