ESU Spikers Loses Heartbreaker to Kutzown

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University spikers dropped a heartbreaking five set match to Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference East Division leader Kutztown. After leading 8-5 in the fifth game, ESU was outscored by the Golden Bears 11-6 to drop the deciding game 16-14. The Warriors did battle back from down 2-1 to force the fifth game with the games scores of 30-28, 28-30, 17-30, 30-18, 14-16.

The Warriors fall to 2-3 in the PSAC East and 8-11 overall while Kutztown improves to 12-5 and 5-0 in the Division.

April Mellott downed 29 kills to go with 22 digs and six blocks while Andrea Myers dug 35 balls and 18 kills. Heidi Johnston added 57 set assists in the effort.

ESU will next play in their second PSAC crossover two day event this weekend at Cheyney starting with Clarion Friday evening at 5:15 p.m.
