Warrior Volleyball Takes Lock Haven in Five After Falling to IUP Earlier

Lock Haven, Pa. - The Warriors women's volleyball team finished strongly at the PSAC Crossover two-day event at Lock Haven University. East Stroudsburg University took perennial power and host Lock Haven to five games to win 3-2 (16-30, 30-26, 30-26, 19-30 and 15-10). The Warriors fell in their Saturday morning match to IUP 3-0 (20-30, 16-30, 14-30) to finishes 1-2 on the two-day event against PSAC West foes.
ESU now sits at 7-9 on the season and were led by Andrea Myers' 12 kills and 34 digs over Lock Haven. April Mellott added 14 kills, 13 digs and eight blocks (three solo) with Heidi Johnston having 45 assists and 14 digs. Sarah Brown chipped in 10 kills and Kristen O'Connell five blocks in the five game win.
Mellott had top honors with eight kills in the morning loss to IUP. Johnston assisted on 17 kills and Myers 12 digs.
ESU will next host West Chester Tuesday night starting at 7:00 p.m. in Koehler
Fieldhouse.
