Three Net Two Goals as Warriors Blister Columbia Union

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The improvement continues. The East Stroudsburg women's soccer team received a pair of goals from three different players to blister Columbia Union 11-0. It is the young team's second consecutive win and the 11 goals more than doubled their scoring output over their first eight matches.

The Warriors (2-6-1) saw two shots apiece find the net from Charlene Conklin, Kate Melcer and Jaime Mitchell. ESU fired in three tallies in the opening 15 minutes of action and never looked back from that point. The team built a 4-0 first half advantage and tacked on another seven goals in the latter half for the 11-0 victory.

Both Conklin and Melcer each assisted on two other scores to go with their goals. Mitchell found the net for the first two times on the season. Lauren DeRewal connected on a goal with an assist while Deidre Durkin, Allison Diange, Tiffanie Savacool and Tanya Bitterlich all booted a goal. Ashley Janasko added her first assist on the year and Darlene Estevez and Jamie Lombardo had other assists.

Columbia Union (1-6) was only able to get two shots off to ESU's 50 in the match. The Warriors also enjoyed the advantage in corner kicks 14-0.

ESU will try to extend their winning streak to three games when they host Califonia (Pa.) Sunday at 2:00 p.m.
