September 18, 2002
Southampton, NY - The Warriors have continually made it close but have been unable to reach the win column and Wednesday afternoon was no different. Jen Amos fired a shot off the post and kicked her rebound into the goal for what would have been the tying goal but was disallowed for not crossing the goaline. East Stroudsburg University women's soccer team then dropped its fourth match by a goal, 1-0, with at the hands of Southampton University.
Southampton (3-1) saw Lauren Smith net the game's only score at 28:02 on a cross from Denise Domena for the 1-0 win. The defeat drops the Warriors to 0-6-1 on the season.
ESU's Lindsey Vandergrift stopped seven shots as the Warriors outshot Southampton 10-9 on the afternoon.
The Warriors will enjoy their first chance to play at home for the season when they host IUP this Sunday at 12noon at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
