Slippery Rock Too Much For Warriors in Women's Soccer Finale

Slippery Rock, Pa. - Slippery Rock proved to be too much for East Stroudsburg in the women's soccer season finale. The Rock netted two second half goals to prevail 2-0 over the Warriors Saturday afternoon.
ESU wrapped up their 2002 campaign 6-12-1 overall and 4-6-1 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference record while Slippery Rock went to 10-6-1 for the year and 5-5-1 in the league.
Slippery Rock's Lisa Castiglione had the first goal at 46:05 off Emily Winterich's assist. A few minutes later the Rock scored again, as Sarah Arsenault found the back of the net at 50:32. Slipper Rock is finished their season 10-6-1 overall and 5-5-1 in the PSAC.
ESU goalie Lindsay Vandergrift recorded 4 saves, as did Slippery Rock's goalie, Amada Wier. East Stroudsburg was out-shot 10-9 by Slippery Rock.
Both team's finish their season and it was the final games in the careers of the Warriors seniors Deirdre Durkin, Tiffanie Savacool and Jennifer Amos.
