Conklin Goal Gives ESU Soggy Road Win

Clarion, Pa. - Charlene Conklin netted the game's only goal in a game marred by a driving rain for East Stroudsburg University 1-0 victory over Clarion University in women's soccer. The freshman notched the game-winning score at 8:48 as the team recorded their second shutout of the week.
The Warriors improve to 6-9-1 on the year and picked up the important Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference win to go to 4-3-1. The Golden Eagles fall to 3-10-1 and 0-7 in the league.
Lindsey Vandergrift recorded her fifth shutout of the year and second of the week. She stopped three Clarion shots on the day. The Warriors outshot the Golden Eagles 20-4 in the win.
ESU will travel to Kutztown to face the Golden Bears at 3:00 p.m. next Wednesday afternoon.
