Savacool Puts Warriors Back in Win Column in Last Home Match

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Tiffanie Savacool went out with an impressive last home performance to get the East Stroudsburg University women’s soccer team back in the win column Tuesday afternoon. Savacool netted two second half scores to lead the way for the 3-0 Warriors victory over Felician College.

After losing three tough Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference matches, ESU recorded their first win since October 1st. The team improves to 5-9-1 on the year while the Lady Falcons go to 3-8-1.

Lindsay Lorson put the Warriors on the board with the game’s first score unassisted at 33:25 for a 1-0 lead after a half. The game remained 1-0 until Savacool put a pair of scores late from passes by Kate Melcer and Charlene Conklin to finish off her last game at Eiler-Martin Stadium along with the team’s other two seniors in Jen Amos and Deidre Durkin.

ESU dominated in shots 34-1 and corner kicks 12-0. Lindsey Vandergrift recorded her fourth shutout of the season.

The Warriors will travel to Clarion University for their next PSAC match at 12noon Saturday.
