ESU Plays Tough But Falls to Another Ranked Team in Lock Haven

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The tough road of 2002 continues for the young Warrior women's soccer team. East Strroudsburg University played another tough match but came up short 2-0 to 11th-ranked Lock Haven Sunday afternoon. The loss is ESU's ninth of the year with all nine coming to nationally and/or regionally ranked opponents.
The Warriors fall to 4-9-1 for the year and 3-3-1 in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference. Lock Haven takes their impressive mark to 11-1-1 and a perfect 3-0 in Conference play.
Erika Schneider took a pass from Brooke Rangi at 18:39 for the lone first half tally giving the Bald Eagles a 1-0 halftime lead.
Rangi fed Naomi Clarke later in the second half at 61:21 to seal the win at 2-0.
ESU goalie Lindsey Vandergrift saved eight Lock Haven shots while Heather Ireland stopped three Warrior shots for the shutout.
The Warriors play their last home game next on Tuesday afternoon against Felician College with a 3:00 p.m. start at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
