Andekian Boots Both Warrior Goals in Overtime Victory Past California

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - Freshman Ankine Andekian booted both Warrior goals with the second winning the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference women's soccer matchup, 2-1, at 99:50 in overtime past California (Pa.). The game-winner came off of Andekian's foot 10 yards from the right corner of the goal off a pass from Tiffanie Savacool to hit high on the left corner past the California keeper for the win. The pair of goals were her first two in her collegiate career.
The win puts East Stroudsburg right back in the thick of the Conference race at 2-0-1 and improves the team to 3-6-1 overall. The Vulcans fall to 5-4 for the season and 0-4 in the league.
Andekian's first score came at 61:07 to tie the contest from Jillian Koscielecki, which eventually sent the affair to the extra period. The lone tally netted by California came in the first half at 14:44 as Kelli Rees knocked in a pass from Brianne Plute.
In net, Lindsay Vandergrift had five saves for ESU while Dana Galiffa blocked 10 shots for the Vulcans.
The women will continue their five game homestand when they host West Chester at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at Eiler-Martin Stadium.
