Captured Five First Places in Division I Dominated Ram Invitiational
Barry Krammes Nationally Qualifies in Javelin

Richmond, Va. - In the NCAA Division I dominated event, East Stroudsburg was able to shine with five top finishes in the season-opening event for outdoor track & field at Virginia Commonwealth University's Ram Invitational. The five first places were highlighted by the national qualifying throw of 196-7 of Barry Krammes in the javelin.
Krammes was joined by three other men top performers in Mike Newhard in the high jump, Brett Henderson in the long jump and Mark Stinson for the 400 meters. Christa Sandvig was the lone woman top placer in the javelin with a throw of 128-10.
Fresh off his second All-American indoor status, Newhard captured the high jump in 6-6 ¾ while teammate Brad Fees tied the height but finished second. Henderson took the long jump with an effort of 22-0 while Stinson ran to first in the 400 meters of 55.12.
In the track events, Steve Denninger and Mike Loenser were third place finishers. Denninger ran 23.18 in the 200 meters while Loenser paced to a time of 32:35.55 in the 10,000 meters. The Warriors 4x100 meter relay was third on the day in 42.87.
Henderson was the lone ESU man to finish in the top three of two events. He jumped to a third for the triple jump (44-0) to go with the first in the long jump.
For the ESU women, Sandvig was the only first place in the javelin. Natasha Jarrett sprinted to second in the 100 meters (12.29) while Kelly Curry ran to another runner-up placing for the 3,000-meter steeplechase (12:13.98).
The women had two third places in the invitational with Vanessa Andes for the 10,000 meters (38:19.86) and the team's 4x100-meter relay (48.66).
The teams will move on to the Lehigh Valley Championships in Allentown next
Saturday.
