Philadelphia & Millersville, Pa. - Barry Krammes fired the fourth best NCAA Division II throw in the javelin for 2003 while both the mens and womens 4x200 meter relay teams had the third best times in school history at the Penn Relays. Dan Gale took the javelin title at the Millersville metrics.
Krammes threw the javelin 210-0 to place fourth in the collegiate division at the Penn Relays. His throw was the fourth best in all of Division II this spring and the third best effort in ESU history.
The other two top performances of the Penn Relays came from both 4x200 relay teams. For the men, Mark Stinson, Mike Newhard, Mike Glover and Steve Denninger ran to a fifth place time of 1:28.45 for the third best time ever for the Warriors. The women also had the third best effort in school history in the same event in 1:44.49 for sixth by the team of Tawny Youtz, Diane Portzline, Jayme Ferraro and Jill Koscielecki.
The two teams also had some very good showing at the Millersville Metrics. Dan Gale took the javelin with a throw of 167-1 while Amy Donovan and Becky Fitz took second places. Donovan tied for second in the high jump at 5-0 and was third in the triple jump at 34-11. Fitz was the runner-up in the same triple jump at 35-1/2.
Tony Billet and Kristin Mullin were able to take third places on the day. Billet ran 11.20 in the 100 meters and Mullin 2:17.00 for the 800 meters.
The teams will next
travel to Kutztown next Friday for a quad meet.
