Warriors Run in Lafayette Invitational

Easton, Pa. - The East Stroudsburg University men’s indoor track and field team placed in the top three of seven events at the Lafayette Invitational meet on Saturday. Mark Stinson led the Warriors placing in two events.

Stinson took second place in the 60 hurdles with a time of 7.92 and third place in the 880 yards in 2:07.45. Todd Breiner ran to a second place finish in the 440 yards in 56.18, as Glenn Kercher ran to a third place finish in the 300 yards with a time of 34.31. ESU took third place in the mile relay with a time of 3:36.

For the field events Mike Neuhard and Brad Fees took the first two spots in the high jump, with jumps of 6-7 and 6-5, respectively. Brett Henderson jumped to a second place finish in the triple jump in 13.22.

The Warrior women placed in the top three for nine different events. Tawny Youtz placed in both the 60 yards and the 220 yards. She ran to a second place finish in the 60 with a time of 7.36 and to a first place finish in the 220 in 26.73. Natasha Jarrett also had two top finishes with a first place finish in the 60 in 7.28 and a third place finish in the shot put with 11.44.

Miranda Greenfield and Liz Stevens took the second and third spots in the 440 yards with times of 1:04.24 and 1:07.44, respectively. Holly Holtzinger ran to a third place finish with a time of 5:30.94 for the mile, as Jill Kosielecki took second place in the 880 yards in 2:24.03.

In the field events Julie Smith and Jess Reynolds took second and third place in the pole vault 9-0 and 8-6, respectively. Smith's vault of 9-0 broke the ESU pole vault record on the day. Other top finishers included Becky Fitz jumping to third in the long jump at 4.67 and Amy Donovan who tied for second place in the high jump at 4-11.

The Warriors will travel to the Bucknell Winter Classic on Saturday, February 15, at 11:00 am.
