Warrior Spikers Down New Paltz for Second Victory

New Paltz, NY - After a week off, East Stroudsburg was able to come back strong for a four games road win Tuesday night. The Warriors took care of SUNY New Paltz 3-1 by scores of 30-19, 30-23, 29-31, 30-26. Mike Messinger downed 16 kills and three others hit eight kills apiece in the win.

ESU (2-4) pounded out 55 kills on the night and eight aces in the match over New Paltz (0-7). Messinger hit an impressive .636 on the night with 16 kills in 22 attempts with only two errors. He added four assists, four digs and two blocks to lead the team. The Warriors received eight kills each from Eric McGuiney, Dustin Wood and Jarrett Merkel while Dave Cuff dished out 36 assists.

The team will travel to Sacred Heart for a 2:00 p.m. match on Saturday afternoon.
