Warriors Hold Their Own Against 6th-Ranked Ball State

NEWARK, NJ - The East Stroudsburg Warriors opened the men's volleyball team against their toughest opponent of the season and held their own. The 6th-ranked Ball State Cardinals took away a 3-0 over ESU by scores of 30-19, 30-19, 30-26 in the 25th Annual Golden Dome Classic. The Warriors saw senior opposite Mike Messenger guide the effort with 10 kills, nine digs and an ace in the match.

The Cardinals (4-1) will face the winner of the Rutgers-Newark and Concordia match tomorrow at 8 p.m. for the title. East Stroudsburg (0-1) faces the loser at 6 p.m.

Along with Messenger, Jon Stellefson and David Wimmer added six kills apiece while sophomore setter Dave Cuff totaled 24 assists with four kills of his own.
