ESU Blanks California in Rematch of 2001 PSAC Title Game

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - In a rematch of the 2001 Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference game, the outcome was still the same. East Stroudsburg blanked California, 5-0, behind a pair of goals from Tom Mustac from Mike Lotocki each time.

The win improves the seventh-ranked Warriors to 7-0 and opens their PSAC docket at 1-0. The Vulcans drop to 5-5 on the season and 3-3 in Conference play.

Mustac opened the scoring on his first goal from Lotocki at 22:17. Jason Cropper from Phil Merrill followed up with another ESU score at 30:49 for a 2-0 lead at the intermission.

Jorge Chapoy and Charlie Brostowski added goals around Mustac's other score in the second half to coast to the 5-0 win Sunday afternoon. ESU outshot Cal 30-11 and on corner kicks 10-1 as the team continues to dominate their opponents in 2002.

Warrior netminder Bill Sterner continues to be solid in the net saving three shots and has allowed only one goal in 2002 while Dan Frick finished the game with a save. California saw C.J. Cameron saved eight shots while Jeff Hoffman had five over the last 28 minutes.

The men will move on to host West Chester Tuesday afternoon at 3:00 p.m.
