ESU Dominates and Sets New School Record

September 14, 2002

East Stroudsburg, Pa. - The first day of the Kiwanis-ESU Soccer Classic Tournament becomes a record-breaking day for the Warriors. East Stroudsburg University set a new school record for most goals scored in a game while downing University of Pittsburgh-Johnstown 13-1. The 13 goals break the 12 goal record set in 1962.

Leading the way in scoring was Jorge Chapoy (Monclova, Mexico) with the first goal of the game. He later added two more to finish with three goals. That makes 12 nets for Senior Chapoy in just four games.

Fellow Senior Tom Mustac (Clifton, NJ) tallied three goals of his own and Senior Aaron Littzi (West Kingston, Pa.) netted two goals. Freshman Joe Alcaro lead in assists with three and also netted one goal in the attack.

The Warriors return to the field tomorrow at 3:30 in the Championship game of the Tournament against Felician College.
