Warriors Take Care of Goldey-Beacom

Wilmington, Del. - East Stroudsburg kept things rolling Wednesday afternoon taking care of Goldey-Beacom College in men’s soccer. Jorge Chapoy and John King provided all the offense the Warriors needed to defeat Goldey-Beacom 2-1.

The 13th-ranked Warriors improve to 11-1-1 on the season while GBC goes to 10-6.

Chapoy took a pass from Joey Piscopo at 12:27 in the opening half to give ESU a 1-0 lead they carried into the half.

Goldey-Beacom’s lone score came at 59:46 when a Warrior defender knocked it in the goal off the team’s goalie. ESU then scored the game-winner compliments of John King from Roy Thompson off a left-footed shot into the upper left post for the 2-1 win.

Rob Frick saved two shots in his first complete game of the season in goal. Peter Ferrante had six saves for the home team.

ESU will next host Bloomfield College Saturday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. in Eiler-Martin Stadium.
