Rutgers '93 - Young and talented assistant coach Marshall Roberts is an expert on defensive back play both from his experience as a player and his on-going studies as a coach.

He was a four-year starting cornerback at Rutgers University and later played five years of professional football.
He joined the East Stroudsburg coaching staff as a full-time assistant coach in charge of the defensive back-field last season. He was a graduate assistant coach for the Warriors during the 1998 campaign.
Last year's secondary turned in a solid performance and helped the entire ESU defense lead the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference Eastern Division in least yards (290.8) and least points (19.5) allowed per game.
Roberts also will be in charge of the Warriors' special teams for the first time this season.
As a collegiate player, Roberts made the Associated Press All-America second team as a junior and the All-Big East first team as a senior.
He also was a two-time All-ECAC first team selection both as a kick returner and as a defensive back. He set eight school punt return records.
After graduation in 1993, he played one year for the Sacramento Gold Miners in the Canadian Football League and four years in the Arena Football League for teams in Orlando, Albany and Milwaukee.
Roberts began his coaching career as a volunteer coach at his alma mater, Abington High School in 1994 where he also was head coach in 1999.
