Frank Lupin
Wide Receivers 19th Year
East Stroudsburg ‘61 - Frank Lupin has completed 40 years as a football coach including 19 at East Stroudsburg. He spent 21 seasons as a high school coach in New York and Pennsylvania.
Lupin has 40 Years of Coaching Experience
Since returning to the ESU campus in 1983 as the wide receivers' coach, Lupin has developed all-star, record-breaking pass catchers almost every year.
His latest stars are seniors John Kotarsky, who has led the team in receiving the last two years, and Larry Harrison, who was tops on the team in yards per catch two straight years before being hampered by injuries last season.
Lupin's 1996 three-man receiving corps of All-America Mike Mancuso, Jason Killian and Brett Witmer may have been the best in PSAC history. Both Mancuso and Killian caught passes for more than 1,000 yards and Witmer was right behind them.
Mancuso and Witmer went on the following year to break all the school career receiving marks.
Before that, Lupin’s all-star pass-catchers included Dennis McWhite, Doug Leonzi, Ken Kopetchny, Dennis Mailhot, Tim Bishop and Scott Benoit, all of whom earned All-PSAC first team recognition.
Lupin played for the Warriors for four years from 1957-60 and was one of the team’s top ground-gainers and scorers.
As a senior under Coach Jack Gregory in 1960, he gained 7.3 yards per carry, third best in the school’s history, with 313 yards on 43 rushing attempts.
Lupin lives near the college with his wife, Beverly. The Lupins have a son, four daughters and eight grandchildren.
