Glassboro, NJ- The East Stroudsburg University women's field hockey team fell to highly-ranked Division III Rowan University this afternoon with a score of 4-1. The Warriors one goal was netted by Senior Mandy Sturm (Shermans Dale, Pa./West Perry) at 23:16 in the firsts half. Sturm was assisted by Junior Sara Gorman (Biglerville, Pa./Biglerville).
Rowan had the lead the entire game with 3 goals in the first half. Beth Rawley netted two goals and Jamie Hicks added the third. Rowan's final goal was netted by Becky Peterson in the second half.
Kelly Wagner (Elizabethtoen, Pa,/Elizabethtown) had ten saves for ESU, as did Kris Bukis for Rowan. Esu was out shot 23-16.
ESU falls to 6-3 overall and Rowan University remains unbeaten 5-0.
