Warrior Stickers Shutout Mansfield

Mansfield, Pa. - East Stroudsburg continued their stingy defense in the Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference field hockey ranks. The Warriors shutout their third straight Conference opponent, 3-0, in Mansfield this afternoon. Sara Gorman assisted on the team's first two goals and netted their third in the contest.
ESU starts their big three-game PSAC road swing this week with the victory to improve to 4-1 in the league and 9-5 overall. The Mounties drop to 2-3 in the PSAC and 6-5 for the year.
Antonia Giannopoulos started the scoring at 17:42 left in the first half and Jillian Ternosky added the second just over seven minutes later with Gorman assisting on each for a 2-0 halftime lead.
Gorman sealed the win with a score of her own with 13:41 to go in the game for the final of 3-0. ESU goalie Kelly Wagner saved nine shots for her fourth shutout of the season.
ESU outshot Mansfield 32-13 in the game and had one more penalty corner 8-7.
The Warriors continue their road swing this Saturday at IUP.
